In Morocco's isolated villages, seeing a doctor can mean hours of travel, when there is a road at all. For many families, simple healthcare is out of reach. Medical caravans bring consultations, care and medicines to them. Here's how they work and how you can help.
What is a medical caravan?
A medical caravan is a volunteer health team that travels for one or more days to a remote area to provide, free of charge:
- medical consultations;
- care;
- medicines.
At Maroc Générations, more than ten medical caravans have already been organised in remote areas, run by volunteer doctors, nurses and pharmacists.
Why it matters
In remote regions, distance, transport costs and the lack of nearby health facilities mean that simple health problems go untreated. A caravan brings care closer to the families who need it most, especially elderly people and children.
How to support medical caravans
| Your help | What it makes possible |
|---|---|
| Gift to the Medical Caravan Fund | Free consultations and medicines |
| Sponsor a caravan stage | A full stage: doctors, medicines and logistics |
| Sadaqa Jariya | Recurring support for medical caravans and Al Itaam |
| Medicines and medical equipment | Equipping the teams in the field |
Medicines: please contact us before donating so we can tell you what is useful. Never give opened or expired medicines.
Sponsoring a stage is especially suited to companies, clinics and groups who want to carry out a concrete health action together.
